Client Brief

This client wanted to update his Chamber office and required a large couch to be able to relax and take naps (he’s a new parent, so we get it). He wanted a small meeting table, chairs, and a rug.

Every client is unique and has their own desires and needs, which are key to the styling process. This client loved the Odette Blood Orange Velvet armchair and Anastasia round side table, so these were the focal points for this styling project.

Styling Considerations

This client described his taste as a little bit quirky and his top priority was his own comfort first. He initially had ideas about an orange couch, however, due to the very warm coloured floorboards I advised a cooler colour would work best.

I recommended sticking with the blood orange armchair, and adding cooler grey tones to balance the warm floor. Bringing in extra detail and colour with the rug and other soft furnishings and decor.

Finishing Touches

A neutral colour palette with one highlight colour, in this case the blood orange, is always best. Texture, colour and detail come into play with details such as the marble table top of the side table, the brass base of the meeting table, the pattern on the rug, and adding cushions, throws or vases and vessels into the mix.
